Hope Christian Ministries began as a prayer ministry January 4, 2003 in Richmond, Virginia.  Pastor Mark Vereen would travel once a month from his home in New Haven, Ct to Richmond, Va. to host the prayer meetings and intercede for the Body of Christ. Our monthly prayer meetings were held at the Courtyard by Marriott at 12 noon. As time went on people began to hear about the Clarion Call to prayer. The saints spent countless hours in prayer and intercession.  As time went on, these prayer meetings led into full fresh oil worship services. Soon chairs were full with people listening to the Revelatory Word of God spoken by Pastor Vereen.  Without question, those in attendance felt the empowering presence of God and lives were emphatically changed forever.

The church had its first radio broadcast on WREJ-Rejoice Radio On June 7, 2003. It was confirmed the same day at a service at the Holiday Inn-Crossroads on Staples Mill Road that the ministry would become a church and took in its first members. It was on January 4, 2004 that the church held its first official church service.  More people were compelled by the Holy Spirit to come and hear the Word of God. The ministry began growing by leaps and bounds and required a larger facility. 

Services convened at the Inns of Virginia On March 24, 2004.  After continued growth, on October 24, 2004, the church moved to Westhampton United Methodist Church on Patterson Avenue in Richmond, Virginia.
Center of Hope Life Changing Church (Home of Hope Christian Ministries) celebrated its first anniversary with a banquet on January 28, 2005.  On January 29, 2005, Pastor Vereen was officially installed as Pastor.
Hope Christian Ministries continued to grow with every Kingdom building assignment and worship services were full with those waiting to hear from the Lord through Pastor Mark Vereen.  The Lord would bless the church with His favor and His presence at every service. Every facet of the ministry began to grow and the people were empowered to do the work of the Lord.
On December 24, 2006, Hope Christian Ministries took a leap of faith under the guidance of Pastor Mark Vereen and moved into our new edifice, located at 5300 W. Marshall Street. The first service was held Christmas Sunday in 2006.
